CRWA Danube River tour hits Vienna

Most of the Charles River contingent has arrived in beautiful Vienna. Our  flight path took us right over the Danube at the edge of the city; the main stem of the river is currently very brown with flood water and sediment, while the canal looks much clearer.

After checking in to the hotel, the group has dispersed, some off on foot to see the sites, others in for a nap! I went to the famed Sacher Hotel for a coffee and a piece of authentic Sacher Torte. Philip Weller of ICPDR arrives shortly for our first meeting, and tomorrow they will host us for a trip out to the nearby national park and wetlands system. Similar in function though larger in scale than our own Natural Valley Storage Areas.

More to come...
